You can request deletion of your Talkiyo account whenever you want, and you do not have to tell us why. Your account will be scheduled for deletion, and you will have 30 days to cancel the request by logging in. If you do not log in during this 30-day period, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted, except for records we are required to keep.
Once the 30-day deletion period ends, your account will be permanently deleted and your agreement with us under the Terms of Use will end.
Before you delete
Account deletion is scheduled and is not immediate. When you request deletion, your account will remain active for 30 days. You can continue using Talkiyo during this period. Logging in within the 30-day period will automatically cancel the deletion request. If there is no login activity for 30 consecutive days, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
If what you actually want is something narrower, you may not need to delete the account at all:
- Stop someone contacting youBlock them in the app. See the Community Guidelines for how, and report them if their behaviour broke a rule.
- Stop promotional messagesEmail support@talkiyo.in and ask us to stop promotional or marketing messages, leaving your account intact.
- Correct your detailsMost profile information can be edited in the app. If you need to update profile information that cannot be edited in the app, contact us at support@talkiyo.in and we will assist you.
- Get a copy of your dataAsk us at support@talkiyo.in before you delete your account if you want a copy of your personal data. After deletion, some information may no longer be available to provide.
Delete in the app
This is the quickest route if you can still sign in.
- Open the Talkiyo app and sign in to your account.
- Go to your Profile.
- Open Edit Profile.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion request when prompted. Your account will be scheduled for deletion after 30 days. You can continue using Talkiyo during this period, and logging in within 30 days will automatically cancel the deletion request.
Delete by email
Use this if you cannot reach the app or cannot sign in.
Send an email to support@talkiyo.in with the subject line "Delete Account".
So that we can verify the request is genuinely yours, include:
- The email address or phone number registered to your Talkiyo account.
- Your username, if you have one.
We may ask for further information to confirm your identity — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because that would let someone else delete yours. Once verified, we will schedule your account for deletion and confirm the request by email. Your account will remain active for 30 days, during which you can cancel the request by logging in. If you do not log in during the 30-day period, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted.
What is deleted
Once the 30-day deletion period ends and your account is permanently deleted, we remove the personal data held against it, including:
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, birth year, gender, profile photo and other account details.
- Your login and authentication information, and the association between your username and any files or content held in the account.
- Content you uploaded to the Platform.
- Your usage and interaction data on the Platform.
Your account remains active during the 30-day deletion period. If you log in during this period, the deletion request is automatically cancelled. After the 30-day period ends without login activity, your account is permanently deleted and you will no longer be able to sign in.
What has to be kept
A limited amount of information may remain after deletion where we are required to retain it by law, or where retention is necessary to meet a legal or regulatory obligation, prevent fraud, resolve a dispute, or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. It is retained only for the relevant purpose and for as long as necessary.
- Payment and transaction records
- Retained for the period required under applicable financial, accounting and tax law.
- Safety and enforcement records
- Where an account was reported, reviewed, or removed for a breach, the record of the case is kept so that the decision can be explained and an appeal can be handled.
- Records under a legal obligation
- Anything we are required to retain by law, by a court, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, and anything needed to prevent fraud or resolve an open dispute.
- Backups
- Data deleted from the live service may persist in routine backups for a limited period before those backups cycle out. It is not restored to the service or used for any other purpose.
- Aggregated data
- Statistics that no longer identify you may be kept, because they cannot be linked back to you.
Our Privacy Policy sets out retention in full.
Remaining Talk Time
Unused Talk Time is forfeited when the account is permanently deleted. Any remaining wallet balance or Talk Time is lost when the account is permanently deleted. Requesting account deletion does not provide a refund of any remaining balance.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund of a specific transaction, request it before your account is permanently deleted, and read the Refund Policy first — it sets out which cases are eligible. Once the account has been permanently deleted, we may not be able to verify a purchase against your account records.
Where Talkiyo terminates an account for a breach of the Terms of Use or Community Guidelines, any refund of amounts paid or remaining Talk Time is at Talkiyo's discretion and will be considered based on the facts of the case, subject to applicable law.
If you get stuck
If you cannot find the option in the app, cannot sign in, have not had a reply to a deletion email, or have any question about what happens to your data, write to support@talkiyo.in and tell us what you have already tried. A person will pick it up.
If you are unhappy with how a deletion or data request was handled, you can raise it with our Grievance Officer at the same address, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
